How ChatGPT pricing works
ChatGPT, from OpenAI, uses flat plans with per-feature usage limits. Free is $0. Go is $8 per month in the US and is priced locally in some markets. Plus is $20 per month. Pro comes in three tiers at $100, $200 and $500 per month. Go, Plus and Pro are billed monthly only.
For teams, Business has a Standard seat at $25 per user per month ($20 annual) and a Premium seat at $125 per user per month ($100 annual), with a minimum of 2 users. Enterprise is custom.
What a credit or seat gets you
There is no credit meter on individual plans. Each plan has its own limits per feature, such as deep research, Codex and ChatGPT Work. Business and Enterprise workspaces can buy workspace credits beyond the included limits.
Limits and overage risk
The limits are set per feature, so you can hit the cap on one feature, such as deep research, while others still work. On individual plans, the way past a limit is to move up a tier. Business and Enterprise can buy extra workspace credits instead.
Who each plan suits
- Free / Go: Light use. Go is the cheapest paid plan at $8 per month in the US.
- Plus: Regular individual use at $20 per month.
- Pro 100 / 200 / 500: Heavy individual users who need higher feature limits.
- Business: Teams of 2 or more. The Premium seat is for heavier users.
