What the credits and limits mean
Lindy
One credit is Lindy's unit of work. Simple requests use a few credits; long multi-step jobs can use thousands. Arithmetic from the listed prices: at the $10 per 1,000 top-up rate, a credit costs 1 cent, so the vendor's "everyday ask" range of 2-250 credits works out to $0.02-$2.50 in top-up value. That is the vendor's range, not an AgentBill measurement.
Monthly credits do not roll over, so unused credits are lost at the end of the month. When the pool runs empty, agents pause until you top up or the next month starts. Top-up credits do not expire. The overage risk is mostly about running out mid-month on big builds, which can use up to 2,500 credits each.
Zapier Agents
An activity is one step an agent takes: each trigger, knowledge answer, action, browse or scrape, and search counts as 1 activity. A single agent run that searches, reads a page and then takes an action uses several activities. Activities are counted separately from Zap tasks.
Each run is capped at 10 activities on the free tier and 40 on paid plans. A task that needs more steps than the per-run cap will stop, so long multi-step jobs may need to be split up or need a paid plan.
Which is cheaper for what
- Free use: Zapier Agents has an ongoing free tier with 400 activities per month. Lindy only has a 7-day trial worth $50 in credits.
- Entry paid plan: Lindy Team is $29.99 per user per month. Zapier Agents Pro is from about $33.33 per month, but that is an annual-billing equivalent, and our data doesn't say whether it is per user. The monthly-billing price wasn't shown.
- Usage: the units differ. Lindy credits are weighted by task size (2-2,500 per task by the vendor's ranges). Zapier counts 1 activity per step, with a 40-activity cap per run on paid plans. We can't convert one into the other without our task tests, which are coming soon.
- Running out: Lindy agents pause when the pool is empty, and top-ups are $10 per 1,000 credits. Zapier runs stop at the per-run cap.
